Disclaimer

In short. GivingTree Map is a research tool. It helps you see who's funding what in the purpose-driven economy (also called the "purpose" or "impact" economy). The Map's data is built by an AI-driven research pipeline that cites every fact and checks it several times. Even so, errors can get through. The information on this site is not investment advice. If you publish it, present it or act on it, check it against the cited sources first. That responsibility is yours.
This Disclaimer is part of our Terms of Service.
Information, not advice
Everything on GivingTree Map, including the Map and the Knowledge Base, is for information and research. It isn't financial, investment, legal, tax or any other professional advice. It reflects our research and editorial judgment.
Not investment advice
The capital-flow data on the Map is compiled from public sources. It isn't a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security, to invest in or fund any organization, or to make any financial decision. GivingTree Global, Inc. isn't a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer or financial institution in any country. Talk to a qualified professional before you make financial decisions.
What we publish and how it's made
We'd rather tell you exactly how our content is made than ask you to take it on trust.
| Content | How it's made | Reviewed by a person before you see it? |
|---|---|---|
| Map data (the records on the Map and their details) | Gathered from public sources by an AI-driven research pipeline. It ties every fact to a cited source and checks each fact several times, in independent ways. | Not each record. People review the data regularly, including AI-assisted data hygiene sweeps and select manual reviews, but not every record by hand. |
| Articles (Knowledge Base, blog, anything published under the GivingTree name) | Written with the help of our AI writing system, from cited facts | Yes. A person reviews every article before it's published. |
The Map itself carries a short note that says how its data is made, with a link to this page.
What this means. Our pipeline is built to catch problems. It can't catch everything. A fact can be wrong in its original source, out of date, or partly misread. AI systems can also, rarely, state something with confidence that no source supports. That's true of every AI system, ours included.
Coming later. When we add features that generate content for you, such as AI answers or reports, we'll add them to this table and label them before they launch.
Two more things to know:
- Sources come first. We show the source for facts wherever we can, so you can check them yourself.
- Inclusion isn't endorsement. An organization appearing on the Map isn't an endorsement of it, and leaving one out isn't a judgment against it.
Before you publish or rely on it
If you publish, present, share or make a decision based on anything from GivingTree Map, you're responsible for checking it against the cited sources first. That applies whether you use it under your own name or your organization's, and whether you got it from us directly or from someone else.
This matters most when you use content in your own work, for example in a report, a pitch deck, an article or an investment memo. Once it carries your name or is presented by you, its accuracy is your responsibility. Our Terms of Service, section 6, explain the rules for sharing and republishing.
If you find something wrong, please tell us. Every correction makes the Map better for everyone. See Corrections and Removal Requests.
News from other publishers
The news section on GivingTree Map (for example, on the Monitor page) shows headlines from other publishers. Items arrive automatically through the public feeds those publishers make available, also called RSS feeds.
- Their work, not ours. We show each item's headline, the publisher's name, the date, and sometimes a short excerpt from the publisher's own summary and the image the publisher attaches to the story. The full story lives on the publisher's site, and every item links straight to it.
- We don't write, edit or check these items. They're not part of the Map's data and haven't been through our research pipeline. The publisher is responsible for what it publishes.
- Inclusion isn't endorsement. Showing a story doesn't mean we agree with it or vouch for it.
- Publishers can opt out. If you're a publisher and want your items shown differently or removed, tell us and we'll act on it quickly. See Corrections and Removal Requests.
Other websites
GivingTree Map links to a lot of other websites: sources for the facts on the Map, organizations' own sites, and news stories. We link to them so you can check our work and read further. We don't endorse or control them, and we're not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, or how they handle your data. When you follow a link, you're on their site and under their terms and privacy policy.
User content
Where people can submit content, such as suggested corrections or comments, we may moderate or remove anything inappropriate, inaccurate or off-topic. Opinions in user content belong to the people who wrote them.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, GivingTree Global, Inc. isn't liable for losses that result from relying on, publishing or sharing content from GivingTree Map without checking it. The limits in our Terms of Service, section 12, apply. So do the exceptions, including your rights as a consumer.
